new Black Star album is great so far. way better than I was expecting

 

yeah pretty impressed overall. some weird/bad vocal mixing but Madlib's production is jaw dropping and the bars are there. the two songs with Black Thought are unbelievable

 

It’s cool that people are finding out about them because of Winning Time

 

as you all know I’m a huge fan of blxst and he just released a new album and of course I had to listen.

my initial thoughts are meh. He basically does the same thing he did on his last album so not much improvement. There were a few songs that were standouts but overall I’m disappointed.

 

I feel the same about the blxst album, it's not bad but not a ton of standouts, just overall sounds... nice

 

let it be known is a great closer and some other stand outs are keep coming back and never was wrong but yeah it’s just a decent release but nothing else

 

to be fair I also don’t really know where Blxst can go next because he does most of the production so I guess he can maybe expand more on that instrumentally wise?

his choruses and melodys were still decent but they felt like a downgrade compared to the last album

and lyrics were about what I expected from a Blxst album lol

 

the Black Star album is..... not great, they both kinda just sound like they are going through the motions here, neither really sounds like they give a shit, kinda a bummer. DM me if anyone wants it

it is out now but it leaked earlier this afternoon and I listened to it. Just haven’t gotten around to giving the opinion. It’s pretty dull.
