I mean... all of those artists got worse. Chance put out an absolute dud of an album while becoming more and more full of himself (I say this as a massive fan of his), DaBaby was fun at first but then it turned out that he could literally only do one thing (not even accounting for him as a person), and Roddy Ricch's second album was a significant decline in quality from his first

Don't really know enough about Polo G, I've only heard his first two albums once and haven't gotten around to the third yet

 

You’re only as hot as your last album is like an old hip hop rule, as unfortunate as that might be. This is nothing new.

Definitely. That record is way better than it’s reputation, which doesn’t mean much, but still something.

 

I know it’s been universally praised and such but for some reason I decided to listen to Nipsey’s Victory Lap and it truly was a fantastic album and an unfortunate last album.

The singles were some of the best of the year for me.

well yeah, because the album before the one everyone is talking about was also pretty bad (imo), so of course i was thinking yeah hes not gonna follow this up with anything worthwhile. and i was right. its a gift and a curse.

 

Conway tape out 2/25. I hit play on the video and switched tabs and "Tonight" from West Side Story started playing and I got so hype for the flip. It was just an ad.
