I completely forgot the Lloyd Bankds album and the Peter Rosenberg album when making my lists. Both were great.

RIP I just started listening to him more recently off a pitchfork praising review

 

drakeo was absolutely incredible. a terrible loss.

I stfg I cannot deal with that Armand Hammer cover. I will literally never listen to that album because of that horrendous image.

 

I can relate to that

 

I physically recoil every time I see it.

 

I’ve listened to it but I think I liked it a little less on first listen than a lot of y’all did, and the art has undoubtedly contributed to my lack of desire to return

 

Yeah, love the record but the artwork is extremely unpleasant

lol yeah I was gonna say there is some metal album covers that make it look tame

 

yeah that's definitely not my thing. gratuitous and tasteless use of violent imagery does not intrigue me whatsoever, just a total turnoff at this point in my life... i get "ugly" art but to me this is different than that. it's just gross. i don't want to be "shocked" into listening to something.

 

I must be completely desensitised to it because I didn’t even think anything of the Haram cover until it was mentioned on here haha

 

Haha I’ve seen some others share the thought with me, but I think I’m in the minority and most people don’t let it bother them. I’m not outraged by it or anything, just grosses me out/upsets me. I guess I’ve become a bit squeamish over the years.

 

I’m sensitive about animal stuff like that

 

Don't get me wrong, I do understand that it's not an easy image to look at and completely understand why others wouldn't like it. Especially if you're vegetarian/vegan/animal lover in general. I'm just dead inside apparently haha

A cover that's really hard to look at for me is the recent Adrian Younge album. I understand why he did it and it's a powerful image to put as your album, but it's also really alarming and horrific considering that stuff like that was happening just 50/60 years ago.

 

Jeez, that's a truly horrific image. Hadn't seen it before now.
