I only put it that way to distinguish between that and the more melodic stuff :crylaugh: I have no problem with “monotone” rap, trap or otherwise

You know monotone trap is a Spotify genre

I definitely think those sounds oversaturated with mediocre artists in the last few years. In general, though, this didn't seem like a big year for mainstream rap. I think a lot of underground and lesser known rapper projects stood out more because of that.

I don't know how I left Backxwash off my list, but I went back and edited my post just now to include it (if it hasn't been calculated yet)

I like a pretty wide variety of everything from old to new to backpack to mumble rap, etc... I just didn't think there was that much hip hop to come out this year that really struck a chord with me. There was stuff I enjoyed, but like I said before, even the albums I put in my top 10, I don't feel any deep attachment to.

  25. Looking for recommendations based on Alfredo because I just listen to it all the time. Love Freddie's voice, love The Alchemist's production. Is there anything else out there with a similar dynamic, harder flows over more relaxed, classical or jazz-influenced beats? Unrelated, I also listen to the Griselda stuff a lot, so I guess anything in that vein would be great too. Just looking for some new shit to get hooked on.
