I just saw a 10 year old has died and this is all truly heartbreaking

10 year old went to the hospital which is still sad, the report of being dead isn’t accurate. Deaths ranged from 16-23.

As an avid concert goes in my youth there have been times where I look back and go “how do people not die at shows all of the time, how is this allowed to happen?”. It’s just an organism of people and you have zero control. Utterly terrifying.

closest I’ve come to this was RHCP at Lollapalooze in 2008. Luckily I was on the front gate so I was able to just crawl over when I had enough, but there were times I was pushed so hard up against it I thought my ribs were gonna crack.

I generally do wonder if we will ever get another captain Murphy release

I only say this because flying lotus release a bunch of music in his SoundCloud and it always remind me we never got another captain Murphy album

New JPEGMAFIA album honestly might be his best yet, this shit is fantastic. Has to be one of the most creative producers working today, and he can rap his ass off. Sings pretty well too

There was a clip of people finally getting word to him while he was on stage, of what was happening. He didn’t seem to care…

    I'm not brave Prestigious

At first I was all for waiting for more to come out before blaming Travis at all, but at this point… I think he’s definitely at least somewhat to blame here. Obviously there’s a lot of things that went wrong, but this type of thing happening at his shows is clearly a pattern with him, BECAUSE of the way he encourages it… and now it led to 8 of his fans dying, and many more with serious injuries. I honestly hope he faces some sort of consequences for this so nothing like it can happen again.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I could be wrong but I feel like all these hip-hop artists idealized raucous rock shows without understanding the community aspect of the crowd. They just want people to go crazy and not help out those around them.

There’s too much past behavior for Travis Scott to escape cleanly from this.

    honestly, nail on head

every punk/metal show I’ve ever been to, if someone falls down in the pit, they immediately get helped up. Big difference between that and a bunch of idiot hypebeast zoomers focused on looking cool and “raging” or whatever.

but conversely any concert of that magnitude has a massive risk factor of something like this happening. Especially one where everyone is so ill-prepared.

You can't gather 100k people, not have the infastructure to support it, and expect things to go well. Yes, there were lots of inexperienced concert goers and just plain selfish/bad people in the crowd, and a performer/staff that didn't seem to take any regard for the safety of the attendees, but if you're in the middle of a crowd that large and someone falls, you might not even be able to help them up if you wanted to. It mostly seems like extremely poor planning imo.
