that era of like singers and rappers having an intro from an artist is truly missed. like you had missy and timbaland doing it for Aaliyah and Keyshia Cole, Monica. Then you had Fat Joe and Ja Rule doing it for Ashanti. I just need more of that because it always gets me hyped.

really liking the Baby Keem album

 

The Keem record is kind of hit or miss for me but I think with a few cuts it would be really solid

 

I don’t really love his r&b, Kanye 808 influenced tracks much but on tracks like scapegoats, gorgeous and family ties hes excellent.

 

New Common out today. Pt 1 of this was pretty good, Common's always consistent

 

man that other song with kendrick is a fucking ripper though. but yeah rest of baby keem is solid enough for a debut. he seems to have a lot more care in putting together a full project than most of his peers but its still a little scattershot and overly long.

edit: had no idea hes a producer too. credits on all the tracks and only credit on some. thats impressive and not something you see a whole lot anymore.

 

I’m just speaking in general but damn I’m still glad Isaiah Rashad came through with his album because I still have it as my top album of the year. I just did a re-listen today and every song still clicked.

 

I was planning on checking it out anyways, but this makes me more excited to listen.

thinking about that era where all the production was coming from Timbaland/Missy, Neptunes/Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri.

 

When I was younger I cut "so so def" from like 10 dupri songs and mashed them together back to back so that it was just 20-30 sec of him saying it from different songs. I don't know why I did that
