An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I must assume the R. Kelly song writing credits are due to a sample of some kind. If we start holding people accountable for the people they sample from, we would have get rid of a lot of rap music. Like, I'm pretty sure I read that James Brown chained people to radiators for days. About 5 years worth of rap music (hyperbole) are based on James Brown samples. Not to say that Drake doesn't suck regardless.

    R. Kelly doesn't own his publishing btw. I think Sony does, but if not them, then some other major.

I was gonna say, fuck R. Kelly forever but I’m not equating using a sample of a non-vocal melody in his song (and then having to credit everyone on the original track) to what Kanye did with MM and Dababy. And I’m definitely not buying the idea that he did it to drum up controversy. He’s still a loser regardless

People love to ascribe nefarious intentions to things that for the most part are just the result of someone being an oblivious idiot

why does everyone act like it’s an either/or proposition. I listened to the Drake album once and the Kanye album a few times and likely won’t listen to either ever again. There’s plenty of room in my life for other artists and to act like I took anything away by giving those albums a cursory listen comes off as self righteous posturing

dunno why you took a general statement like it was a personal attack on you lol, I was talking about the fact that the Simz album is getting less discussion than it should (everywhere not just here) because it dropped the same day as Drake, that's just clear. obviously I understand why because Drake is a massive name, but he sucks, and I wish his latest vehicle for gaming the streaming numbers wasn't taking up the air we could use to discuss better albums

I was also speaking generally because it’s something I see a lot, and again I’m confused because there’s not a limited amount of air to use to talk about other artists, especially on this site, and it should be clear that everyone who regularly posts in this thread hypes up and checks out lesser known shit on a regular basis

There are few things I love more than 00s rap and R&B videos that feature snow scenes and rappers/singers in winter gear

I don't really listen to Nas or Em anymore, but just heard this and was pleasantly surpised.

In my headcanon this is a sequel:

It even has more winter gear and snow scenes.

Also fun fact about this song: it's, uh, "real". They even went to kindergarten together.

Was there some sort of snowy Ja Rule vid or am I imagining that? Maybe it was some Murder Inc adjacent artist
