I never got into Die Lit, but should probably revisit it. I do like Whole Lotta Red though.

 

Weirddddd timing, I’ve randomly been going from Whole Lotta Red hater, to liking Slay3r a couple months ago to literally loving it these past few weeks, def hyped for more music although I’m not really sick of WLR yet

 

Whole Lotta Red is fine, I can only take Carti in small doses

 

Any of you guys hear of PawPaw Rod? Dude only has a few songs out now but they’re all so killer. Can’t wait for a full length from him. Indie rap vibes - think fans of Smino, Duckwrth, Channel Tres, etc would dig him.

 

Love those comparisons but PawPaw Rod is a hilarious name

Paw Paw Rod sounded sick after listening to a couple songs, voice reminds me of Deem Spencer but much more of a groove in his stuff

 

the Simz album is so, so fucking good, my god. might straight up be her best work (and she has a lot of incredible work)

 

I used to straight up hate Carti's music but he just weirdly really clicked for me last year like right when WLR came out and I loved that album, then went back and loved Die Lit too

Still need to get around to the Simz album but I'm pretty behind, I haven't even heard CLB yet and I'm somebody that actually still checks for new Drake

 

fuck Drake use that time to spin Simz twice imo

 

Drake did it again. Full 24 hours with CLB and there’s really only about 5 tracks I didn’t like. His best since Nothing Was The Same IMO.

 

I think there’s exactly one song on there that is actually good enough to go back to regularly

 

I think Papi’s Home is fun

The Wayne/Ross song too!!! The rest is pretty boring and I doubt ill return to it

 

damn I was telling someone papi’s home was probably the song I liked the most but it needed a nicki verse to really make it better

 

I'll give that one another listen then, at some point I tuned out too much to really notice things

 

Way 2 Sexy is one of the worst major rap songs that I have heard in a while

 

Way 2 Sexy doesn’t move the needle much for me but I can see younger 20’s me having a blast to that.

Wayne/Ross features are great. The Cudi track is great. I also love Drake’s mid-song transitions he does it well.

Not to be outdone by K*nye working with a bunch of ****s, Dr*ke has a song with writing credits from R.Kelly and a song that samples prominent anti-vaxxers Right Said Fred.

As much as I hate to say it, these are the two biggest rappers on the planet. And they’re working with and sampling the worst people in music. Fuck them forever.

yea fuck them both and give Little Simz the airtime instead she actually deserves it

 

Just got done listening to the new Little Simz, gonna take a few more listens to truly digest it all but off the bat it sounds so GRAND, I love it

also damn it doesn't have its own album thread? That's a shame, she definitely deserves one
