the best live hip-hop act ive ever seen is shabazz palaces. it was at a very, very small venue in st louis with maybe 100 people there, tops. its was very intimate and very, very impressive from a technical standpoint. tons of percussion, sequencers, synths, samplers, etc in their arsenal and it was just the two of them.

i saw them during the lese majesty era i believe and this video is from the quzarz era, but the set up is about the same.

My Release Radar this week starts with a Meek Mill song and doesn’t feature even a single Drake song. Ngl it feels good lol

Also omg the Drake album is also 1.5 hours, what’s wrong with these guys, they’re too thirsty for chart spots

Gotta be honest here… when Whole Lotta Red came out, I had no idea what to make of it. It seemed like a mess and nonsense. But it’s grown on me a lot and I like his “rockstar” aesthetic. He’s doing his own thing.

Can confirm I did not like Whole Lotta Red at first. But it grew on me to the point where it's one of my favorite 2020 albums. Cannot wait for Narcissist.

Not quite sure where to put this (more trip-hop I think?), but it's a vibe

this has nothing to do with the conversation but I just did a 6 hour drive and I had Aaliyah’s one in a million in the rotation and man that’s such a good album. I do like how they are dropping them into streaming service because I feel like it gives me time to digest the albums better.

I also had Lauryn Hill’s miseducation in the rotation and her adlib game is to powerful.
