I feel like that is a great example of exploiting someone’s legacy and using a posthumous album as an opportunity to tack on a bunch of big-name features that have no real ties to the artist himself.

This soundtrack is actually pretty fun. Not that it's essential or amazing or anything, but it's damn fun. Not gonna watch the movie though.

I swear to god I think this is based on one time pop smoke posted a video of him singing to dua lipa so they probably asked for her

just, you know, really surprised this didn't come out

 

That Dua Lipa feature on Pop Smoke is awful. Song has no business existing, even if I think it is sonically a potentially interesting detour for Pop. Pusha referencing something very recent (Tyler having the “album of the year”) on the posthumous record of a rapper who has been gone for over a year feels very sinister too. Only heard these two songs so far but they sound cobbled together from disparate fragments. Real evil stuff.

 

the song with Kanye west and pusha t is literally an old Kanye song that they re-used for pop smoke and they took out Kanye whole verse and replaced it with a 2 line verse

I don’t even wanna bother listening to this album

 

Does his family make money off of this? If so then let it be imo

 

The Apple Music description changed but it said this was feature heavy because none of the songs were even finished and the features are filling the gaps

It’s also on this, which lots of people thought may be that secret Al/Earl album they put on streaming that no one found until recently. It was never confirmed that it was definitely them, but it has to be right?

Oh shit! Yeah that’s gotta be. Threw on some of those Rapper’s Best Friend tracks this morning and liked what I heard, switched to something else about halfway through but will go back to the rest later.

 

Great find, it must be. Earl’s Solace EP/tape is up on Apple Music under the artist name. That’s cover art definitely looks like a young Earl too lol

 

Definitely interested in how people even found the album, impressive

 

Did a little more digging and seems like this might be an unofficial upload of leaks/loosies? I have a few of these in my iTunes dating back to 2015/16. And one of the tracks, “Death Whistles”, is apparently produced by King Krule and was premiered on a Red Bull radio show in 2016, which makes me think this isn’t the Alchemist tape.
