I made a big mistake by clicking on that first video

 

The lack of hip hop on here caught my eye. Is this year lacking in quality hip hop releases or is this another instance of hip hop being overlooked among the contributors on this website?

The Best Albums of 2021 (So Far)

 

I’ve felt this year has been quite underwhelming for me personally

 

Almost all the good-great hip hop albums from this year have come out in the last like month or so lol

 

Other than Mach-Hommy and Conway I can’t really think of anything

 

Theres a solid number of individual lists with hip hop on them. They just aren’t popular enough to make the main aggregate.

 

I think I only had 3/25 on my mid year list, which is definitely low. MIKE and Tyler might factor in there with more time. The bigger name records have mostly disappointed but they’re all good for a few solid tracks.

 

Definitely think Armand Hammer should have made the list

Will also say, again, that if anyone is unhappy with mid year lists lacking hip hop, at least come post in here with us! Always weird when the criticisms come from people who aren’t typically posting about the genre anyway, ya know?
