I'm fully aware it's a pretty bad song haha, but I do find it fun at least.

This is the song I meant. I remember it coming out (I actually first saw/heard it on a TV in a Turkish restaurant - my friend was like “Look, a new rapper!”). I might be imagining things but I feel like this came out, then he went away and then came back again as the Wiz people know.

 

Wiz had some massive hits that reached the masses despite not having a good album since 2014.

as terrible as Old Town Road and Panini are, the new Lil Nas X song isn't half bad

 

I like Old Town Road

 

I've never voluntarily sat down and listened to Old Town Road properly, but I still think it's a damn good pop song.

 

I think it's a single catchy hook surrounded by a whole lot of bad, but it's an amazing look at how memes, remixes, jokes and more can catapult a song into stardom.

 

Let's not start pulling that thread because you'll unravel a whole lot of stuff

 

I was actually exactly the right age for Wiz (was in high school 2010-2014) and I still stand by my post lol. Know lots of people that loved him but I never got the hype

 

Never liked Panini but Old Town Road is great and the new song is solid, pretty catchy. He's going to be a huge pop star for years to come, doing all the right things and he knows how to use the internet better than anyone else.

 

He knows his fan base and what he grow it into.

Definitely someone the queer community will latch onto for years. It doesn't hurt that he's down with the lost of art of music videos.
