  1. Quas is so great. I slept on Yessir in particular for wayyyy too long and only got into it a few years ago.

All I can think of at the moment is Kill The Vultures and Bigg Jus (from Company Flow. Which you should also listen to. Him, El-P and Mr Lens first group).

I’ll have another think and get back to you.

That was the Quas album that properly made him click with me. If a collection of b-sides and loosies is as good as that, how good must his actual albums must be haha

If you’re on a Madlib vibe with Quas, definitely give Lootpack a listen. Libs first group.

Juggaknots! Listen to them too. Clear Blue Skies is a great album. It’s on streaming as Re:Release, which is the album with 11 other tracks.

Hell yes. Thanks guys. Will return with reaction thoughts.

  6. I have heard Lootpack but it’s been years! Good reminder to revisit that one, could definitely stand to get more familiar with it.

Have never heard Juggaknots, thanks for the rec, will queue that up sometime this week!

A few songs into Living Legends' Classic and it's fucking great, damn.

Living Legends are also a great gateway into that particular West Coast underground scene.

Is it bad that the list makes me want to revisit Limp Bizkit's greatest hits? haha. I never liked them, but they were always all over TRL so it might be some nostalgic fun to run through their classic music videos

I assume that song with Method Man is on there, but that’s actually not a bad song, mostly because Method Man is on it

I don't think so, their weekly rap up and so on always came out I think, so did the end year lists. I think they just had less content overall.

I have listened to so few of those songs. Gonna keep it that way.

N 2 Gether Now is a banger, though. I’m sucker for a late 90s Preemo beat.

I thought the top song was gonna be Kanye's poopidy scoop song, but they nailed the landing either way

Anyone that digs Living Legends should give Haiku D’Etat a listen too. Like a more jazzy version of LL in places. From a couple of the guys from Freestyle Fellowship (Aceyalone and Mikah 9) and Abstract Rude.

    Also listen to Freestyle Fellowship.

I bought my first Living Legends album as a teen on a whim without knowing anything about them because I found it under new rap releases in a mega CD store and liked the cover, haha. Those were the days.

A lot of those other guys I actually first heard on snowboarding/skateboarding tape soundtracks. Those used to be a good resource.
