I use Last.fm, so unless I wanted badly tagged scrobbles, I had to keep everything meticulously organised.

So glad I finally took the plunge and got Spotify. It had got to the point where I was adding and removing stuff from my iPod so regularly, I lost track what was on it and what wasn't. The number of times I was out and thought "I fancy a listen of such and such" and it not being on my iPod got too much.

Yeah I mean I also use Spotify, but I do have a pretty large amount of songs that aren’t on there and never will be

Hm, maybe I'll listen again today and see if I like it any more than I used to.

Honestly, it might be worth you taking your old computer to a shop and having them place all the files on an external drive at this point. It's relatively cheap these days to get a new drive and that's a pretty easy task for a computer shop

yep, I am exactly the same way as you

    hey you lil piss baby

Glad I'm not the only one that keeps an old laptop running for my iTunes library alone lmao

Changing over to Apple Music was a revelation but I still have such a deep back catalogue of files I acquired over the ~decade before I signed up integrated with my library.

Yeah I have so much shit that would be nearly impossible to find again, so I also have a very meticulous iTunes library.

The iMac is backed up on an external drive and I also backed up the iTunes library separately. Or do you mean something else?

I’m trying to find out if I can access that backed up library on my MacBook without loading all the files onto my MacBook. Googling didn’t give me very clear answers.

I still have hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of albums in my iTunes library on my macbook (and stored on an external harddrive). Every time I get a new iPhone, I use my old iPhone to store my iTunes library. I've noticed a lot of hip-hop from the 90s/early 2000s is not on Spotify, so I still use my iPhone in the car to play my iTunes library all the time.

I also have a Spotify account, but pretty much everything I have downloaded onto Spotify is from 2018 and newer. Everything else, is on my iPhone's music library.

Because you’re young you don’t have 400 00s Dipset and The Game mixtapes that you absolutely have to keep

I wish DatPiff would have paid me to fix all the ID3 tags in their library. I will offer my services to you instead.

I've never really gotten that into Ty Dolla, but I listened to like... 6-8 songs from his new album based on features, and it's pretty fun. Might have to check out the whole album...

still pissed off at Ego Death though, honestly could have been one of my favorite tracks this year if Kanye didn't show up in the middle with a trash verse

My favorite by far is the album he did with Jeremih, that's a really fun, well made R&B album

I think I should just dive into that one, I really dig Jeremih overall so it makes sense I'll enjoy it

Love Ty. Hyped to check out the album today. My favorite by him is probably Free TC, followed by MihTy, but his mixtapes (Airplane Mode and Sign Language) are also excellent.

Nothing really sticking out to me on the Ty album, but it's fun so far. About halfway through it rn.
