    Have your say: 2000 classic

Thought I’d try this for classic albums from now on. Fingers crossed we can get a definitive answer.

Also gonna do it earlier next week too!

Personally I really don’t think we should do Hell Hath No Fury because the whole point of this is to introduce people to new stuff and a lot of white indie rock fans actually somehow know The Clipse because of Pusha’s Kanye association. They crossed over so to say. Cam’ron would be a much better choice. The Blueprint too, because somehow those same people don’t really know Jay’s pre-WTT work.

Sure but by that rationale if a lot of these people don't know Jay's work prior to WTT why would they know Push's work prior to like Daytona or MNIMN

If we really wanna go for it we should do Blu & Exile or Reks or Freeway

Damnit, should have put Below The Heavens on there instead of a second Cam'ron album

I vote for Below The Heavens. Plus they have a new album out next week so it’s the perfect time to get others spun up.

I would also be on board for the first Reflection Eternal album, but I’m not so sure that others are as high on that album as I am.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I was gonna say Blueprint was more genre defining for the 00s but if it's something NEW to most people then maybe not. Cuz TBP introduced us to 'Ye and soul sampling which got copied to death. And then everything 'ye did for hip-hop/pop (both good and bad).

Sorry didn’t realize there were options provided. Guess I’d vote madvillain, though He’ll Hath No Fury is def the one I’ve listened to the most over the years.

Right, from next week, i'm gonna start taking suggestions on Monday for the following weeks classic. Then i'll try and tally which 5 were mentioned most and then stick them into a poll and post it on Thursday. Then we'll hopefully get an out and out winner each week. Sound good?

listening to the cool kids album the bake sale.

I remember hearing gold and a pager in my 7th grade English class. It was weird and I don’t even remember the circumstance my teacher showed us it in.

I love The Bake Sale. It was simultaneously ahead of it's time yet classic sounding at the same time.

Their new album, which is just all their recent EPs and loosies, is the first time i've really enjoyed one of their releases since The Bake Sale. Having The Alchemist produce for them always helps too haha

I know Neptunes were crowned kings at the turn of the millennium, but Timbo was not far behind AT ALL. I’d actually argue they were pretty much equal.
