Just finished Gucci Mane's autobiography and it was pretty solid, crazy life he's had. I honestly don't really listen to much of his stuff, but I'm definitely going to go back and listen to everything he talks about in the book

I’m rewatching The Nanny and in the later seasons Ray Charles plays a reocurring character, the new husband of Fran’s grandmother, and in the episode I just saw the character played by Ray Charles brings his grandson (or nephew, not sure), a nerdy gift-wrapper that turns into a cool rapper over the course of the episode, played by Coolio lol

 

My parents love The Nanny. I had to move back in with them for a couple months (I'm out now, thank God) and every night they'd watch the re-runs and I'd hear my mom cackling from across the house.

 

I used to watch it as a kid and it’s very different now as an adult. That shows gets kinda dark lol

I didn't go through it so I don't have an opinion and I'm sure it's not friendly enough to mainstream hip hop, but I'm also sure some of younger ones will find plenty of good stuff through this list

 

Gonna give that a proper look tomorrow. Ali being top 10 is awesome, though

His last 2 albums are his best. The Chang Project and The Big Chang Theory. His EP with 03 Greedo is also very good

On further inspection, that list isn't all that. Lotta weird placements and some albums being above others that do not deserve that much praise. I'm all for "real" hip hop, but that list is far too "I listen to underground shit only, dog". Dude needs to expand his horizons a little.

They need to give Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks a break too. Surprised that Tech N9ne isn't on that list too. Or the "holy trinity for rap fans who wear the confederate flag as a belt buckle" as I call them.

 

I still haven’t looked at it but I saw that coming based on who made it, but like I said, I’m sure there’s stuff on there for people to discover

 

Hmmm, i'm not sure. A lot of the list is of it's time and i'm not sure some of it has aged too well either. There's a few gems in there, sure. But they're already pretty well known. Basically I don't think anyone on here is gonna be checking out J-Live, Masta Ace or Mr Lif any time soon haha

 

Fair enough, but maybe people should check them out lol

I actually never heard of J Live, and after seeing him all over that list was gonna check him out lol.

I didn't realize Jedi Mind Tricks were so hated. I never got super into them but they have a few albums I was.feeling at the time.

Also they're opening for Wu Tang at Red Rocks on Halloween alongside Immortal Technique.
