His father is African-American (I know this because he made a very big deal about it when I unfortunately took my sister to his tour with G-Eazy). But he is very much “visibly white” (if this is not the right thing to say, someone please tell me).

He "passes" as white. Think that's the right thing to say? Went to school with a guy who people kept saying his mum cheated on his dad because he looked white but his siblings were a lot darker than him.

They covered this topic in One Day At A Time for anyone that's watched that.

Just went to the first night of the JID/Saba tour and it legit might be one of the best rap performances I've ever seen. Both JID and Saba are absolutely incredible live, neither of use backing tracks and they also have incredible energy, particularly JID. Holy shit does that dude have a bright future, he absolutely murdered every song

Saba is supposed to play a festival here today but like he has made no mention of it on social media and his website makes no mention of it either.

It’s also a nightmare if he flies from the east coast over here to west coast and fly right back.

Old Thug leak from like 2014 that Keed hopped on and killed it and now has finally been officially released after being a solo Thug leak all this time. Video is really cool too, showing old pics of the two of them individually before they blew up.

I responded more thoroughly yesterday and then deleted it because I did not feel like arguing, but: don’t argue about whether or not Logic is black (or “black enough”). Just don’t.

No one was arguing about it. Someone asked a question and it was answered.

If that’s all it was, fine (though maybe googling it would have been the way to go then). Arguing was also the wrong word. I do think that then pointing out that he “looks white” or whatever goes beyond just asking a question, given the context that it was brough up in in the first place. Maybe I’m reading too much into it though. Clearly nothing bad was meant by anyone. Let’s move on?

I hadn’t heard of Keed before, but listening to this I though his part was actually Thug until Thug’s verse came in

Oh yeah he sounds a lot like Thug and is heavily influenced by him, but definitely has his own style too. Check out Trapped On Cleveland 2 if you’re interested in hearing more. Keed Talk To Em is also really good.

Did anyone go to the It's Dark and Hell is Hot 20th Anniversary tour?

I bought tickets for Cleveland (which was last night) but ended up selling my tickets (for a small profit). I mostly wanted to go because It's Dark and Hell is Hot is one of my favorite hip hop albums of all-time, but beyond that, I'm not big into DMX. So once I found out he wasn't even playing much of that album - combined with the fact I read horror stories in other cities about him showing up super late and then only playing for 30-45 minutes, I decided to sell.

Glad I did, because people are bitching about the Cleveland show that he only played for 45 minutes.

    What a rip off.

Yeah that sounds about right. Don't ever buy DMX tickets, don't ever buy Lauryn Hill tickets lol

Realised my 3 favourite hip hop albums so far this year(SOB X RBE, 03 Greedo, Rico Nasty) are all collab albums with a producer. More of these please.

I'm glad he explained himself because at first it just sounded like a rich person not wanting to pay money for someone else's labor, I have no idea how sample clearance works just that sometimes they fuck up pretty much

The whole economy that has been built around samples is bad in as far as it has made is largey impossible for non-rich artists, which really means most rap artists, especially those that still make sample heavy music, to make and/or use sample beats “legally” (i.e with cleared samples).

So bad opinion here but I actually dig “Homicide” by Logic and Eminem. I’ve never listened to Logic before so I did a quick scan of his past albums and holy shit @ the song Metropolis! 44 More is so good too.

Any other uptempo Logic bangers I might have missed for those that like him?
