Really good. Lyrically really good to hear something like that this year.

 

Haven't loved a Freddie project since SOAD but I think this will be the one

 

He doesn’t have the best ear for beats. Luckily Madlib doesn’t make bad beats.

 

Yeah Freddie/Madlib just too good of a combo
Wasn't just that that made his last few projects not as good to be though(I love SOAD after all). His flow on songs like Weight just lacked what I enjoy about his rapping.

 

You Only Live 2wice and Freddie are both excellent imo, but Gibbs is probably in my top 5 current rappers.

 

Yeah his last four projects have all been fantastic Freddie esp. only 7/10 one was the Currency one from last year, but even that one has some bangers. Saturday night Special

Crushed Glass from You Only Live 2wice is an underrated track.

 

His ear for beats is one of his strengths. Speaks a lot to his ability that he sounds good over pretty much anything

 

I'm not as into him as most of you (or into anything really, like I said I'm bad at listening to music), but I feel like I have heard a lot of random Gibbs songs with beats that sound like he got them sent to him on MySpace. Kind of like The Game.

 

Listening to Piñata rn and this album is still so incredible

 

Maybe you're listening to some of his older stuff, or mixtape tracks?!?! I feel like most of the beats he's used in the last few years have been fairly solid.

 

Very possible, music that came out 5 years ago is still new in my mind lol

 

Yeah, he has some solid songs in his early work, but some of the production/beats sound a little amateurish.

Madlib And Mac Miller Have An Unreleased Joint Album

Jazzy Jeff and Mac Miller once announced an album together too. Surely some tracks must exist somewhere.

 

Mac had a million projects in the works that never saw the light of day (off the top of my head he was supposed to release an EP called Pink Slime with Pharrell). Wonder if him passing makes it more or less likely that we ever hear any of it
