Its hard to grasp the context of how big some of these new toxic rappers are. Huge, huge reach.

    Did Juice Wrld do something?

He's just real toxic in his subject matter and shit, as far as I know

Honestly it might even be pretty standard, that's kind of where we're at right now

With this new wave of "emo" rap it's basically become this generation's pop-punk I think. Juice WRLD and others' lyrics seem to match that stuff too

Even musically it can be similar, like if you put the vocals of Lucid Dreams on top of a pop-punk instrumental it would fit right in

Or put it over an Owl City song you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference

Like I said the other day, I was REALLY surprised, but the Juice WRLD album is dope.

It's comparable to a pop record and they lyrics are super emo, but it is what it is and a lot of it is catchy as hell.

I love that Danny brown is the plug now for everything through twitch. He says new album early 2019.

I listened to Spotify’s most popular Juice World tracks last week and he’s alright. I think he’s better at this emo rap thing than many of his contemporaries. I doubt I’ll listen to much more of him though, it’s not my thing.

Yeah he's definitely one of the better emo rappers. Don't love his album, but it's decent.

    hey you lil piss baby

His first two singles (All Girls are the Same and Lucid Dreams) had me really interested but I really disliked what he's doing as a whole album. I think I really gravitated to him at first because it was the closest thing I had heard to Lil Peep since his passing.

juice world unfortunately exhibits the worst misogynistic tendencies of both rap and pop punk

That, plus I can’t help feeling like that I could right now he listening to better rap music or better pop punk music than whatever these guys are making, with or without “emo” topics. I just don’t think they quite nailed the formula, if that’s even possible.

I do dig some Lil Peep here and there but a lot of emo rap is terrible. Emo and rap are pretty much my two favorite genres of music but it's very rare that they actually work well blended together. I think in most cases rappers are better off taking inspiration from emo lyrically rather than musically tbh.
