XXX rightfully gets a lot of hate (though he needs more) but Famous Dex has somehow completely escaped criticism for beating the shit out of his girlfriend on camera

I've never actually heard of him, maybe it's his level of fame? Or maybe I've missed those convos before

I'm a big Drake hater as you all know but he's about to turn a bounce record into a hit and I have to respect that

Famoux Dex is totally a name a b-tier German rapper from 2002 would have had

I swear this joke works if you know German rap

Yeah, he’s a piece of shit. Got it man. Still gonna listen to an album to see if I like it.

oh my god, I'm back on my bullshit Prestigious

I mean not only is Famous Dex a piece of shit, what I've heard of his music is really bad. Same with xxx. I just don't get why people continue to support shitty people making bad music.

Yeah it's sometimes rough to separate musical geniuses from their transgressions... but it's super easy to not listen to shitty music.

I don't think XXX makes good music (though I guess the fragments I heard of SAD! sound better than usual), but a lot of people whose opinions on music I respect seem to think he does. Maybe it's me but I have no desire to have my mind changed so it's better this way.

It’s one thing to find out an artist is an abuser after you’re already into their music, but to go in and listen to them after you know? Why? There’s literally a million fucking rappers you could listen to instead but nah you’d rather choose to support a piece of shit. That makes you one, too.

No it doesn’t you weirdo lmao. Is he getting any money out of me? Am I going to his shows? No to both.

  19. Blainer93

Probably because people have different opinions on music than you.

I think we maybe shouldn't get into the art ≠ artist discussion again because it never leads anywhere on here and smarter people than us have been going at it for many decades

Nope. We need to have these conversations cause not having them is what got us in the situation where Chris Brown tops charts. If you don’t feel smart enough to talk about it, fine, don’t say anything, but don’t try to curtail the conversation either.

If you’re streaming, you’re supporting him. I don’t care if you’re downloading, you’re still supporting. Again, there are millions of rappers out there, but instead of giving that listen to a new artist you’re giving it to someone you know is an abuser. That’s a choice you’re making and it’s dishonest not to acknowledge it.

Yeah cus mostly everyone is a hypocrite when it comes to that convo. Everyone likes someone who’s probably a shitty person and has done something shitty.
Boo fucking hoo dude lol. He’s getting zero dollars from me. I enjoy LOTS of music, I listen to a lot because that’s how I form an opinion when I give a review. Sorry that upsets you that much.

"getting money" from us is not what this is about, at all.

I'm saying it because we have had it many times on here and it never led to results. Also, the world has had it many times. People seem to disagree about it. That's why Chris Brown tops the charts. What I mean by the smart people comment is that a lot of very smart, very qualified people came up with very good arguments for both perspectives.

But sure, we can do it: people are too complex to be solely defined by what they stream on Spotify (unless it's something that is nothing more than thinly veiled propaganda like Nazi rock). I sometimes have the instinct to call anyone (including me) garbage that eats meat and is therefore responsible for the ending of a life and partly responsible for global warming, deforestation, ocean dead zones, hunger and droughts, but I keep it in check because I know reality is more complicated. If that doesn't make you a piece of shit than maybe streaming SAD! doesn't either.
