Logic's pre-album mixtapes are fucking dope imo, and I really like his first album Under Pressure too. His second album is pretty good and third is okay, and the two Bobby Tarantino tapes are pretty hit or miss (though the new one has some of his best shit in years)

I say this as somebody who grew up about 10 minutes from where he's from and have been listening to him since the first tape though, so I have a lot of really good memories of his early stuff

 

I remember that when he first came out part of the marketing pitch was that he is "Mac Miller's friend"

Not necessarily. I think in the past two to three years yes, but from when logic came on the scene with the young Sinatra tapes, his fan base was very different.

 

New mixtape slaps and this is coming from someone who hated his last two albums. A lot of great lines, some good humour that doesn't over do it, impeccable flows and melodies as well as amazing production. There's a couple duds on the tape like ''everyday", but overall a really fun listen. Definitely reminds me more of his mixtapes than anything he's done recently, I'd recommend to give it a listen at least.

 

It was a lot of early Mac Miller fans but then that fanbase split once Mac went down a different path after his debut

 

Idk, I remember between 2011-2013 he used to get compared to j.cole and Kendrick a good bit only started to see the Mac miller and Eminem comparisons and overlap in like 2015 , I could be wrong tho. But I just remember seeing on forums and most of my friends who liked his mixtapes weren't fan of the latter two mentioned.

 

When he first came out in like 2010 he was pitched as "Mac Miller's friend", I remember this exactly. I think all those comparions are bad by the way, he's not like anyone of those, including Mac.

 

Yeah but naturally as his fan base has picked up mainstream listeners he's picking up those mainstream Eminem fans too, the people who need their hip-hop delivered by a white or white passing voice

 

Ohh. Never saw/ heard about that comparison, but I see why

 

Yea which is completely understandable, especially as his full lengths were way more poppy and "commercial" sounding

 

Heard NF for the first time today. It is the worst day of my life.

 

NF is too white for most white rapper fans

 

It amazes me that someone so boring and cliche could have such a massive fan base

 

I guess you could say he let you down.
