I'm now downloading the Innaetape to listen to while I play some games tonight.

Sounds like it's right around the corner. New York Times had article online today where Nas said he hopes to release it this summer. Even more interesting, he JUST posted a photo on Instagram promoting Khaled's album and then wrote "and then y'all know what's coming after that." He then later edited the post and deleted that sentence.

 

I'm excited. I thought Life Is Good was excellent.

 

He's been saying that every summer so I literally don't believe him unless it's on iTunes and I'm streaming it.

 

Yeah, he's been doing this since Stillmatic. I remember after Stillmatic he said he was only releasing 3 more albums and even had titles for them. I also remember this tweet.

That said, I actually do believe we'll have it by end of this year.

No idea how this will go over but if this Vic album lives up to the expectations I have for it, I'll like him more than Chance probably

And I say this as someone who absolutely loves Chance (and literally just got home from his incredible concert an hour ago). I just think Vic has insane potential

 

I keep forgetting which rapper Vic Mensa is but after Googling I think I like him, he had a good Juan Ep episode and I remember liking parts of that project he was promoting. I'll listen to his album.

I'm about half way done reading this book and it is amazing. It is in many ways the perfect companion to "Can't Stop Won't Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation" because it's also very detailed but focuses much more on what was going on behind the scenes. It really changes your perspective. I recommend it (in combination with the other book I mentioned) to anyone that wants to really know about hip hop.
