G Perico album is definitely my favourite in the genre so far this year. Top 5 counting every genre.

 

I'm hearing that the new KRS One album is apparently really good. I personally don't care for KRS for several reasons, but maybe some people here are interested.

 

It has ben a strong year so far for hip hop and R&B. I haven't really liked much outside of those genres this year (also haven't listened to a lot I guess), though I do love the Menzingers album.

Saw Smino last night. WOW! What a show. Had a dude on keys, drums, bass and guitar, plus 2 back up singers. Crowd was really into it and his vocals were great live. If you get a chance to see him, do it. Guarantee he's gonna blow up in the next year.

 

By the way guys, I know it's all a matter of taste, but I'm writing all the Logic apologists down for the next time one of you disses J. Cole ;D

Logic has a great flow, but all his lines are cringeworthy or at best filler. So he's trash. J cole fans should like him tho

 

they're both fine, but nothing special, imo.

Listened to some Chester Watson last night. Kid is mad talented.

 

Never really checked out the Underachievers before but this is awesome. Gotta check out their new album on Friday

 

Had no idea Underachievers had something new coming out. I never got deep into them either, but I checked out some of their stuff when they were coming through town with Cam'ron, and it sounded pretty good.
