E40's set was wild because I forgot how many hits he has

It was also getting crazy because they started playing money trees and jay rock came out but it was a tease and I'm so sad.

Oh yeah I wasn't saying Logic is better than Wale or anything, just who I've noticed the people around me getting behind more out of the two rappers from here

Rockville Maryland if you know where that is. About 40 minutes out from DC and 45 from Baltimore. Very close to Gaithersburg which is where Logic is from

  11. I like Logic, but even if I didn't it seems like he's trying to be a positive force in hip-hop at least, especially with these new songs he's been dropping.

Also, Brother Ali and Ant continue to bring it.

The problem is the way he approaches being a positive force. He has in the past actively tried to portray hip hop that isn't him as something bad or dangerous so that he looks better in comparison. He, for example, at some point sold his shows as "safe rap shows". That's actually being a negative force.

This is not new but they just reposted it and it reminded me of the conflicted feelings I had about it. It's well researched, but the way they belittle and patronize German rap is annoying. And yes I knew Deso's music when he was just a rapper. Feels very weird now, haha.

so slowly going down my MF DOOM rabbit hole, I checked out KMD's Black Bastards for the first time.

That is an incredible album. Really interesting hearing at the start of his career.

I have an "Operation: Doomsday" lunchbox (which came with a CD and some trading cards). I'm telling you that because that's what I do when someone brings up MF DOOM. No shame.

I'm not big into vinyl, because I don't currently have a turntable, but I used to, and I have Mobstability on vinyl, so I may pick this up for future listening. Thanks.

MF DOOM is incredibly consistent. Even enjoyed NehruvianDOOM which came out recently. Dude's pushing 44 now, pretty hard to believe.

My favorite projects from him are probably Madvillain (and the Four Tet remix album), Danger Doom, Mm...Food, and King Geedorah. I still haven't listened to some of his others for whatever reason, but I hail him as a living legend for the genre for sure

i just listened to operation doomsday for the first time the other day. can defiantly see that becoming my fav from him.

ive been tackling his discography very slowly, doing about 1 album a month and trying to spend as much time as possible with that one album. Its been an incredibly rewarding experience not just powering through it all quickly.
