Holy shit Wale has Phil Ade on his new album. The album itself has its ups and downs but that is a nice surprise.

I thoroughly enjoyed that Wale album. He's a passionate artist, and it ...SHINES through in his music lol

I also listened to the first Kweku Collins song on his new album and its pretty good. He's always been kinda interesting but I've never really wanted to dive deep into his stuff idk why tho.

It's not a bad album, some great tracks on there, but he hasn't been on top of his game since The Gifted in my opinion. He's very talented though no doubt.

  8. Pusha is so good on the Gorillaz album

Such an upgrade. Lucky enough to get Thug on my date as well, can't believe 3 of my 5 favorite rappers are touring together

I've already heard I'm the one a few times on the radio so that's nice

I still like slide a little more as a song of the the summer contender

I feel like Wale never lives up to his potential. I really like his early mixtapes, particularly Mixtape About Nothing and More About Nothing, but none of his albums have ever really done it for me. I also live in the DMV and I honestly don't see people repping him very often even though he's here all the time, which is kind of weird, Logic gets a lot more love and he hasn't come back in a while

I didn't even know that existed so I know what I'm listening to at work tomorrow.

I also remembered this great song. It also helps how great that sample is:

He has a lot of good stuff. His last album did not live up to my expectations, but his first album is so amazing and Ode To Illmatic is a really good tape. The album he did with Murs is also cool, especially for in the car.

I went through my iTunes and found this one. I remember when it came out my friend and I constantly quoted parts of this song for like a month.

One Blood Remix Feat. Jim Jones, Snoop Dogg, Nas, T.I., The Game, Fat Joe, Lil' Wayne, N.O.R.E., Jadakiss, Styles P, Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross, Twista, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, WC, E-40, Bun B, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Young Dro, The Clipse, Ja Rule

Mine has a better sound quality though.

The Joey Bada$$ album is actually nice o_O This guy really grew as an artist. Parts of it sound like a more commercial, less nuanced Oddisee album, but good regardless.

As someone who also lives in dc, Logic is pretty wack and does this fake conscious type of style, reallt doesnt do anything for me. Wale keeps it real. His older stuff is definitely better but his new album is filled with summer jams and is at the very least worth a listen.

The way I see it Wale is maybe the most naturally talented artist of his class, but my guess is he's someone that needs a good executive producer (or an A&R, or a producer with a strong vision or whatever) behind him in order to make a really great album. He needs a Marley Marl to make a Mama Said Knock You Out. That's not a knock against him, it's very common I think. However, I don't know him, but from what I have heard and seen I can imagine he is hard to work with, so that's a problem. This is a fun album, but Wale could do so much more and the fact that it is so obvious kind of makes me sad. That's just me though.

    Also fuck Logic.

I was a big Wale fan and I didn't even know he had a new album out, don't really care to listen. I think he's really struggled to form any sort of identity, even on albums of his I enjoyed they've all lacked any sort of personality. He's a solid rapper and that's it, which is kind of a bummer.

I'll listen to his new album, but I've only ever liked a couple of Wale songs.

I'll probably also listen to the new Logic when it drops, but I'm not expected much from it either. Honestly I don't know if I could name a single Logic song.
