CD is my second favorite Kanye album, but I can easily see how some might say it's the best. I think LR is better as a whole but the highpoints on CD are really fucking high. Both are probably in my Top 20 at least.

I remember as a 10 year old watching MTV and seeing the Jesus Walks video.

That video had me like whoa so I went to my local library and got the cd and that's when I became a huge Kanye fan.

One time when I was young, I went to a church event of some sort. They must have downloaded a bunch of songs with Jesus in the title or something and at one point an uncensored version of Jesus Walks was blaring through all the speakers.

It's my other favorite, sometimes I like it more than College Dropout depending on mood

I was 15 when College Dropout came out and I still remember the first time I heard Never Let Me Down. Also, I distinctly remember seeing the All Falls Down video on TV for the first time because I had a "crush" on Stacey Dash, which is hilarious to think about in 2017, haha.

If we're gonna talk about how we discovered Ye, I just remember hearing the story on MTV about the car crash and heard Through the Wire. Then when Slow Jams came out, I was already a Twista fan so it was just game over from that point. Copped College Dropout and literally only listened to that album and nothing else for like 6 months straight.

Graduation was the first hip hop album I bought (clearly younger than many of you)

I first listened to Kanye because someone in my 8th grade class had a Kanye song on his mp3 player and showed it to me on the bus but I didn't think much of it because I was stubborn and also wasn't that into music

But I first got into Kanye because I downloaded a bunch of beats and one of them was the beat to "Selfish" by Slum Village and I thought "That was amazing, who did this?" and found out it was Kanye and then listened through his existing catalog

    I was a late fan

I almost feel bad for the one new person who joins the community and just has a strong desire to talk about what Kanye albums he likes the most and least

    almost being the key word

I consider Tony Hawk soundtracks my first intro to hip-hop lol. King by TI was probably my first "proper" hip-hop introduction album

I think a lot of people my age found hip hop and punk music through the Tony Hawk games. Those soundtracks went pretty deep too in terms of rap.

I don't even remember my first hip hop album because I was probably like 4 at the time, but I do remember being like 7-8 years old and going to a garage sale and seeing "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" on vinyl, looking at the cover and thinking, "I gotta get this." - I don't remember how I was able to get it, but I did somehow.

I got into rap through getting a cassette of Too Legit To Quit by MC Hammer (known as just Hammer at the time) in about 1993. Had the Adams Family Rap on there. Banger.

I know was a fan of big rap songs on the radio as a young kid in the 90s, but I was around 11 when I bought my first hip hop album (which was also the first piece of music I ever bought, though my dad got me some soul records before that, which I also loved). I remember it very vividly for some reason. I got money for doing some task at home and decided to buy a CD. I went to the store and I saw this CD that looked really cool to me at the time. It was LL Cool J's 2001 album "The G.O.A.T." (which is still a good album by the way). I brought it home and when my brother in law saw it a few days later he gave me a bunch of CDs: Enter The 36 Chambers, Illmatic, Beneath The Surface and Hell On Earth. Haven't looked back since.

    Corny, I know, haha.

Lmao at those talking about real albums being your introduction to rap. My first hip-hop album was probably Elephunk by the Black Eyed Peas. Still lit af every song a banger

If we're talking actual rap, it was probably Stankonia tho

I also rember sitting in the back of the car as a little kid, while we were driving on some Amsterdam highway, and seeing a billboard for the Atlanta Olympic games and Will Smith (or probably JJFP at that point) playing on the radio, haha. It's one of the few memories I have of that time for some reason.

To be fair I had no idea what I was buying, there is probably a parallel universe in which I picked a Vanilla Ice album because the 11 year old me of that universe liked that cover. All credibility is accidental in my case, haha.
