Just listened to The Don Killuminati for the first time and was really into it, what a great album

 

Is new Rae good?

 

Listening to good kid, m.A.A.d. city in full for the first time in years. Damn, theres a deep sincerity to this album thats truly inspiring. I liked To Pimp a Butterfly and his other recent stuff but nothing, imo, nearly touches the highs of this project. I hope his next one leans a little bit more in this direction

The R&B thread is barely a thing and people post about R&B in here semi-regularly, so I was wondering what your thoughts were on merging the threads (if that is possible)?

 

I've been keeping a list of every new album I listen to this year and those were ones I considered standouts.

 

I don't really like that idea. If I wanted to talk about KING or Maxwell I wouldn't come here, and if I wanted to talk about Thugger then I wouldn't want to scroll through those posts either

That's cool. To be fair, if I wanted to talk about, for example, Common, I'd rather scroll through Maxwell posts than, for example, 21 Savage posts, even though they are technically the same genre. But I still get what you mean ;D

 

I gave Outkast's Stankonia a listen today for the first time in a long while and god damn if it isn't one of the better rap albums ever made. Way before its time. There are some dirty ass beats on that one, and Andre never lets up. There are parts that actually remind me of Danny Brown which was interesting to me

I also love how Big Boi can channel any kind of flow at any time and somehow make it work. Luv it

 

Man that XXXTentacion dude got out of jail and is getting more hype and Blackish had Chris Brown on tonight. Smh
