also revisited Some Rap Songs last night and was hypnotized again. Truly a 10/10

 

it’s so fuckin bad dude, I didn’t anything could be worse than the “Popstar/rapper co-opting pop punk” thing but this hybrid takes the cake. That big Walker Hayes song is the worst song I’ve heard in the last five years minimum

 

It was bound to happen, the next big collabo album is gonna be Morgan Wallen and Drake or some shit

 

I mean Tim McGraw and Nelly collaborated twenty years ago but it sucked then and it sucks now

 

That Nelly song is good I stand by that

But yes country rap has always been a thing, I mean arguably even UGK came close, at least Pimp C thought so, so there was always good stuff too, but someone like Quavo doing it seems contrived

 

I know it's different when he's a white shape-shifting popstar, but this kind of already happened with the recent Post Malone album

totally slept on the previous industries album. it's very good.

 

I decided to give 2014 Forest Hill Drive a re-listen cause the 10 year anniversary and honestly I think I like it a lot more than I did back then. I do think it still falls in that good but could be great if some songs were cut shorter.

I still think that and Friday Night Lights were high points for me.

 

Yeah, really good album, that. Haven’t listened to it in a while, need to give it a spin soon
