I haven't heard his tape yet (literally just found out it existed) but I'm glad he's responding even if it might not be good, hip-hop needs this and we all know Drake won't do it

It may sound better in the song itself (not that i'll ever know because J Cole bores the hell out of me), but just seeing those lines written down? Yeesh. Should have left it a while and come back with something that's not just "your albums suck"

I think the problem is that Cole doesn’t wanna diss Kendrick lol He has nothing to say about him, so he provides his personal Kendrick album ranking

Excited to check out the Ritchie solo album. Revisited Injury Reserve last weekend and forgot how interesting they are/were.

 

This solidifies for me how mid Cole is. The man is a complete impostor for what peeps consider “intellectual rap.” Meanwhile he’s not as “woke” as most believe and overall just a really weak lyricist

I don’t disagree with some of that, but he’s not a weak lyricist, he’s just not good at everything. He’s pretty good at storytelling or painting a picture or whatever you wanna call it. He just hasn’t been doing enough of it for a while. Maybe he’s said everything he has to say. That happens to rappers.

That bar is terrible of course.

 

Not ONLY does J Cole show his own ass by calling TPAB an album that put people to sleep but then that bar above, good lord
