10 UK Artists to Watch in 2017

Some incredible stuff on that list. Nadia Rose has already been one of my favorite newcomers but I was not aware of many of the other artists on the list.

 

Only know Gaika on that list and he's bloody great. May have to check out the others. Especially Nadia Rose, repping the Cronx.

Yeah I discovered that Kyle song from the list and it's sick.

 

the only other thing ive ever heard from him is his verse on "wanna be cool"

TBH I still like I like Boogie songs more than any PNB song, Philly bias aside

Doubt It gained a bit of buzz when it dropped. Fun song, bit derivative of DRAM (or vice versa if Don't Wanna came out in 14, idk when DRAM blew first, thought 15) but enjoyable.

The rise in singsong hip hop (A Boogie, PNB the like) is irking me a bit, none of these dudes that are bubbling up can hit a solid melody enough for me to rep them. Their voices are bland and nothing hits lyrically either. I think if they spend more time with hook writing and developing song structure they'd be worth following more closely

 

iSpy is easily his best, the early stuff fell in line with what I was just complaining about. At the very least, Uzi goes in over interesting beats and Yachty's voices is unique enough to stand out

 

This era was when I first heard him so I haven't returned to his stuff bc of it lol but I'll check those new songs out. Thought his verse on Surf was terrible too tho

Apparently A Boogie has a Drake collab comin soon

 

Always thought his Surf verse was hella corny but had some charm to it. I'll check some of these older tracks.

 

I've grown to love A Boogie tho stoked to see where he goes or if Drake buries him in the graveyard of forgotten artists he stole from

 

all of surf is corny and charming thats why it works
