yeah the new Young Fathers is absolutely gorgeous. they're barely hip-hop at this point but idk where else to post about em lmao. RIYL The Avalanches, AnCo, that latest Injury Reserve maybe, just good music in general:

Remember finding him on FB about 5/6 years ago. So many good ones. The Muppets/Bone Thugs one is one of my favourites.

UK hip hop legend with his first new album in 6 years. Already know it’s gonna be good.

the more time goes on the more I come to realise that "Mainstream" is the best Outkast song

Love that song but 13th Floor is on the same album

crazy because I just had a re-listen of the first 4 albums while on a recent drive somewhere.

elevators, ET and mainstream were my favorites off that album.

absolutely beautiful song and one of my favourite hip-hop closers, but Mainstream is like the platonic ideal of what I want Outkast to sound like

The 50 Years of Hip hop performance that Questlove curated for the Grammys is very worth watching, even if you skip the rest of the entire show

I need to watch it but all I’m finding is grainy twitter links for all the performances

That was pretty cool. I did have the thought during that they could’ve had more rappers from 2005 to current day. They skipped a good 15 years or so. The way Lil Baby just sorta appears out of nowhere without any smooth transition is jarring. Would have also liked to see more women rappers up there. But ignoring that, it was still probably the best performance of the night.

Lack of YMCMB or really anything from like 2007-2018 was a bummer.

LL Cool J specifically said so ahead of the performance, knowing damn well that the internet (and this thread) would have qualms haha

I figured they probably got a lot of no's when Big Boi came up without 3K.

Well yeah, obviously not everyone is going to be there but i was more referencing an entire 10 or so year stretch that really wasn't represented at all. Wayne and Future would have easily filled that gap if they didn't bail
