new Boldy's great too, probably his best since Bo Jackson if not earlier. really loved "Frozen"

  2. Just getting around to this new Boldy, on my second pass and it honestly might be my favorite of his. Really impressed, having a great time

Yachty album that’s dropping tonight is a solid AOTY contender for me, not hip hop really but still makes sense to post here. I wasn’t the biggest fan of his before this but this is a huge step forward and has some IGOR vibes

Its more the feeling it gives idk how to describe it, instrumentally it’s kind of like Tame Impala/all live instruments and vocally he’s doing it justice imo, his singing improved, there’s a lot of soul in the songs and everything is very cohesive and flows very smooth, excited to see what people think! I’ve had the leak for a month but the official version is much better mix wise and has a few changes

My favorites: The Ride, drive me crazy (only one he raps on really but the first half is more soulful/singing so it’s a nice mixup), then the 3 track run from say something to Should I B is very good imo, I feel like if none of those are working you wont like the rest but if you enjoy the vibe of those there’s a high chance you’ll enjoy the whole album

It’s Yachty doing Tame Impala and it is pretty sick

Yeah I'm hearing some crazy buzz about this Yachty album. I've actually always secretly really enjoyed most of his music but I'm really excited to check this one out

  13. I tried really hard with Yachty probably 6-7 years ago, he’s fun but the music never really stuck. Those credits all have me very interested tho

It’s not a hip hop album, it is nothing close to anything he’s done previously. Never cared for his music minus two or three songs… this though is pretty good. Highly recommend listening on some good headphones or speakers too.

Yeah I never went out of my way to listen to any of his previous stuff but I’ve had this on repeat

this Yachty is some wild stuff lmao. production is genuinely beautiful, his lyrics and vocals are... an acquired taste, but either the album is getting better as it goes or I'm just getting accustomed to them lol. either way, "WE SAW THE SUN" is lovely, first song that's really really grabbed me

love to hear this kind of ambitious swing either way. parts of it remind me of early Cudi

Did not expect an album like this from Yachty. Good for him for leveling up like this

Had no idea Yachty was dropping this soon. If I recall, the rumors/hype last year was that he was dropping a "rock album" as his next record. Cool on him for keeping things fun and different.

Also, this sounds great (and loud) through nice speakers.

I don’t think I would call this a rock album. I guess you could, but it’s also kind of neo soul-ish, the Roots/Soulquarians-expanded-universe-ish

Yeah, Yachty sucks....so this is quite surprising to hear. Like, honestly, it's been quite some time since I've seen this type of level up from an artist.

Like Cody Chestnutt is not a rock artist in my mind, this sound like something Cody Chestnutt could make if he were trying to become more accessible lol

Yachty is, and has been, probably the best pop song writer of anyone in his “class”
