catching up on some 2022 stuff I missed. King's Disease III first - like the rest of this run with Hit-Boy I think it's fine and good but a little bit plain. it's definitely preferable to the middle era Nas stuff but I still wish he'd go outside his comfort zone a little bit more, not bad by any means though

doing Westside's 10 now. idk why it took me so long to get to this, the feature list is insane. Black Star feature on "Peppas" is jaw-on-floor good

 

I think it’s the best one of that run. Not amazing, but very good.

yeah I probably agree with that. I don't really hear a huge difference in any of them though lol, apart from 1 having some bad features. it's a run of fine to good albums to me

ran through all of Boldy's 2022 albums today which was fine (they're not too long) but I was starting to get an eye twitch from hearing the phrase "where we at with it" so often lmao. pretty good stuff on the whole, liked Be That as It May and Fair Exchange No Robbery a bit, the other two were kind of plain. I don't think he has a bad album in him but he definitely coasts a lot on the same flows and subject matter and I wish he would branch out a little more like he did on Manger. (goes without saying but I also hope the dude is okay and recovering well)

might do Rome Streetz Kiss the Ring next. was gonna do this last night but it's long and I was sleepy

this Rome Streetz is insane. feel like this dude could spit forever, can't believe I only just heard of him. this is easily the best album I've heard from the 2022 revisit
