another moment where I love hip hop and sampling is I was listening to this classic hip hop and r&b playlist and I usually don’t look into older songs production.

Monica’s knock knock came on and I learned it was an early Kanye production and also the same song Tyler and A$AP used for their potato salad collaboration

My favourite Hip Hop and R&B releases of the year in bold. I didn't make MOTOMAMI bold, but that album is also Hip Hop as fuck, I don't care if people disagree :crylaugh:

I loved Control System and the Longterm Mentality series, but nothing else from Ab-Soul really ever did much for me, but Herbert feels like a return to form and I'm really digging it.

The Ab-Soul album is absolutely phenomenal, wow. I'll always have the nostalgia for Control System that will probably make it my favorite but this just might be his best. His rapping is better than ever and the production is incredible. I'm so glad he's doing so much better and this album was well worth the wait

This Yung Kayo EP nineteen is one of the best projects I’ve listened to this year. Short but so sweet.

    Episode 248-Quibble Jam 2022 (Pt.1)

This episode and the one after it are basically the podcast’s end of the year list. Very good. A lot of stuff a lot of us like, but also things that are similar to it that I hadn’t heard off.

Yeah, already given this a listen, as good as ever. I don't really listen to their pods outside the quibble jams, I really should. I've just got way too many pods to listen to!

Have listened to the Defcee & Boathouse album a couple of them mentioned too, is really good. They mentioned AJ Suede as well and he sounds right up my street as well.

That new MIKE album is really interesting. A lot brighter than previous efforts, sounds like he's in a better place since his mother passed. Her passing played into a lot of his projects in recent years, but this has a more positive feel to it.

Some really interesting beats on it too. Some of it almost sounds like it's been produced by Actress or Dean Blunt or any of those style of electronic producers.
