Yeah WatchingMOVIES for sure. I kinda stopped listening to him after that but that was his younger self growing quite a bit and around the time he started getting some respect

I like Watching Movies still. A bit overstuffed but really good stuff. I don’t really listen to him too much but I always considered Divine Feminine his best musically. Though I think you need to be in a specific mood for that one.

It depends on what you want from Mac

If you want the fun, goofy fratty stuff, you already heard the best one, KIDS

If you want psychedelic, heavily drug-influenced music with dark lyrics and trippy beats, his trilogy of Macadelic, Watching Movies with the Sound Off and Faces are essential. This is my favorite era of him musically, even though the lyrics can obviously be a little tough knowing what eventually happened

Good AM is more mainstream/trappy but still fantastic and has a ton of experimentation still

Divine Feminine is very jazzy and upbeat, perfect if you're in the mood for some love songs

Swimming/Circles are basically the culmination of everything and are both incredible projects. Swimming could be a great place to start if you want a little bit of all of his sounds, but I also think it could be worth listening to these last so you can really see the insane progress he made (and was still making).

To answer the actual question, Faces is my favorite but the best one to actually start with would probably be either Watching Movies, Good AM or Swimming

What a fucking loss, I can't imagine the music he would have been making in his 30s and beyond

  4. There’s good stuff scattered throughout a lot of his discography, but Swimming is the one imo

I think all of Mac’s albums are good to great except for the debut. That wasn’t good. He had some fun moments before that though.

  7. I loved Blue Slide Park in high school lol. Can't imagine it's a great record now, but some of those songs used to set parties off (granted I live in Pennsylvania)

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

I don’t know if it’s his best songs but “Stay” and “Dang!” are both top tier songs from me for Mac Miller. I can write a whole damn essay on how much I love Stay.

Haven't listened to the brand new one yet but I honestly think Control System is the best non-Kendrick TDE album

It's between that, Blank Face and Cilvia Demo

Another Your Old Droog project out today. Solid stuff as always. Could probably find an AOTY chart bothering 10/12 track album from the 5 projects he's put out this year.

Glad he's putting out this stuff. Although If Nas was rapping over these beat, Droog would be out of business haha.

I think that's Cilvia Demo by a sweep haha, not even close

I do like Control System a lot though. definitely my favourite release of his, but it still has a lot of stuff I could do without. "The Book of Soul" is an all-timer tho

    The spiciest meme

Going through Little Simz's new album a second time, it's most likely going to be overshadowed by Sometimes I Might Be Introvert from last year which is still a phenomenal record but this one is still absolutely fantastic. Little Simz just does not miss. Still sad I had a ticket to her tour this year and she had to cancel due to financial burdens.
