I know it’s been said baby keem isn’t for everyone but he dropped a deluxe with a bunch of new tracks which I’m excited to all check out.

Really excited to check out the new Smino album. I think we should make a thread for it. One of the best doing it right now

    Killing Nothing

Does anyone else get bummed out by the seemingly endless misogyny in hip-hop? Revisited some 21 Savage in advance of his collab album next week and it felt like every other word was the b word, every song featuring multiple derogatory lines about women, etc and that's not an uncommon occurrence in this genre. I absolutely love hip-hop and all the creativity it offers but I'm growing increasingly tired of the misogynistic garbage many hip-hop artists spout. It's pretty embarrassing that the genre hasn't moved past it yet imo

it's real good on first listen, though I'll say it's not as immediately mindblowing as NOIR was. need to listen to it more

Smino has always seemed like an artist I should be more into than I actually am, I like him on features but none of his albums ever really stuck with me. Think I'm gonna go through his discography again, maybe he'll fully click for me this time

Smino is a rapper I always get confused with other rappers. Smino, Saba, JID, others with short names that I’m forgetting. No idea if they sound alike, but whenever they’re mentioned on here, I think “haven’t they just released an album??”

All of those guys kind of form their own little scene and work together a ton so I can see it

Smino and Saba have a group with No Name, Smino and JID are on tour together next year, all three have great albums out this year.

They each sound pretty distinct from each other but I totally get it.

NOIR I think is his best one yet. He killed it on that one.

Anyone into the new Loyle Carner album?

Really great album that reflects on some important issues including the death of a parent and friends, knife crime, growing up in poverty, UK racial issues, cycles of violence and more.

Feels like a huge artistic step up. Georgetown, Homerton, Blood on my Nikes, A Lasting Place, and HGU were all a huge highlight for me.

  23. Wild I had no idea he had a new one on the way. Doesn’t feel like Loyle Carner has really had “that” album yet but I also can’t say he’s ever missed either. Just very enjoyable and consistent. Excited to dive into this one
