Backseat Freestyle, Swimming Pools, Maad City were house party essentials

 

I remember first hearing about him on AP.net and picking up the CD on a whim that Black Friday. Took a while to get into it (my tastes and experience with hip-hop were different then), but it's stood the rest of time.

 

good kid is still easily my favourite kenny. Sing About Me alone takes it

 

Think it’s my favorite by him too.

It’s funny because I consider Good Kid, My Krazy Life and Summertime 06 important albums to be me and for some reason I thought they came out the same year but nah they came out in a 3 year span lol

 

2012 was amazing for TDE though with GKMC, Habits & Contradictions and Control System

 

The 10 year of good kid maad city had me feeling all the early tde stuff and it reminded me of this. I sometimes wish we did get a black hippy album because they usually connected well together.
