Yeah this JID album has me hyped. Love everything about it. Production is fantastic on this, some of these beat flips are wild.

I started singing the life’s a bitch chorus to one of my coworkers and then it had me listening to illmatic again and what a classic of an album. It’s so good.

JID album is outstanding, I already loved his other albums but this one is on a whole new level, absolutely insane production

Meanwhile I was a little disappointed in the Meechy Darko album even though I'm a pretty big FBZ fan but maybe I wasn't in the right mood for it

I’ve been on this huge like electronica hip hop streak right now and if anyone got any suggestions that be cool.

I’m talking like kaytranda, Chanel Tres, goldlink and like that early duckwrth

Check Rico Nasty and the new They Hate Change albums. Danny Brown’s Atrocity Exhibition. A$AP Rocky’s TESTING. Cookiee Kawaii’s Vanice. Also Pell does that sound pretty well. I may also suggest some of Vince Staples and Smino—they dabble in that territory. Not really hip-hop, but the first Toro y Moi album gives off that vibe.

Not sure it’s exactly what you are looking for but I’m a big fan of both the 700 Bliss and Infinity Knives albums from earlier this year.

Found this on tik tok, one of the most strangely infectious songs I’ve heard in a while

After listening to it multiple times already, yeah I think this JID is my album of the AOTY. The production is beautiful and really has some influence and deep ties to Organized Noise. The beat flips are amazing (I am 50/50 typically on beat flips), the songs transitions seamless. The way the track list is laid out is well done and something that gets missed a lot in rap music today. That does not even touch on just how great JID's bars and flows are with great topic matter. He finds so many different pockets, even with in the same song. The way he can vary his voice/speech pattern is probably damn near in the same tier as Kendrick. Just a damn near flawless album to me.

The way the album flowed really reminded me of Kendrick, I’ll need a lot more time with it still but left a very high first impression.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Crack Sandwich might be my favourite song of the year lol

for me, JID is to Kendrick in the way that other people think Baby Keem is to Kendrick. I think JID pulls it off way better and in a way more interesting way

I really love the sample and how they flipped it on Dance Now. I thought it was a metal/rock song that was the original, really reminds of Metallica maybe for some reason.

Kenny Mason kills his chorus work on the two songs he did as well.
