This new Flo Milli is weirdly giving me 2 Chainz vibes. Really good album.

People suck in general, but I know rolling loud historically has terrible crowds. Plus add in pissed off Kanye fans... I don't blame Cudi at all, that sucks.

Oh jeeze, Kanye showed up at rolling loud anyway during lil durks set

edit: and did Father stretch my hands which features Cudi, good Lord dude....

Any of you ever hear of They Hate Change? They absolutely rule. Reminds me of Main Attrakionz or A$AP Rocky’s TESTING. Maybe throw a little bit of Vince Staples’ Big Fish in there. Really enjoying this album.

Is The Eminem Shows, although worse than the three albums before that, the culturally most significant Eminem album and the album that made him a phenomenon rather than just another rap superstar of a certain era? I feel like it might be

I've been thinking about Eminem lately, no idea why

Girl Talk remixed one of his songs off his recent (great) collab album, and mashed it up with Harry Styles, it's great

I think it probably is, yeah. IIRC that’s really where he leaned into his celebrity status, and the one that made it clear that his controversy only bolstered his career instead of dampening it

Weirdly enough I randomly discovered today that Til I Collapse is among the top 100 streamed songs of all time on Spotify. What’s that about? There are only 5 non-2010s songs on the whole list, how did some random Eminem deep cut join the ranks of Bohemian Rhapsody, Wonderwall, and Mr. Brightside? Haha

Til I Collapse I wouldn’t call a random deep cut. Used in lots of movie trailers, sporting events, or drivers with lifted trucks and monster stickers with trump flags on them

I kind of always thought of The Marshall Mathers LP, and particularly the success of "The Way I Am" and "Stan" as being that turning point. I also remember him and his lyrics being mentioned a lot after Columbine (which happened between the release of TMMLP and The Eminem Show) and I feel like that kind of stamped him as a cultural icon of the early oughts.

this is just some random post but ever since drake started released his “dance” inspired album. It just has me listening to even more Kaytranda and man what a producer. He releases such good music.

This is correct. Also, TES was far less controversial than either of his first two albums. TES May have been the most serious and honest we saw of Em.
