I believe the 72-hour thing was already known. The GarageBand and the $100 mic is new info, tho.

Drill Music In Zion is my favorite rap album of the year by a pretty large margin. Production's incredible and the jazz influences throughout are so welcome to what I like from him. Love that he locked in with really dense wordplay and the concepts are still there, but it's nowhere near as unwieldy as DROGAS WAVE, which I struggle to get through due to length.

The WESTSIDE BOOGIE record from last week is really good too. Took me a minute to get to that one.

Favorite Rap Albums of the Mid-Year:
Lupe Fiasco - DRILL MUSIC IN ZION
    Pusha T - It's Almost Dry
    Saba - Few Good Things
Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See The Future
Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
Conway The Machine - God Don't Make Mistakes
WESTSIDE BOOGIE - MORE BLACK SUPERHEROES

    Haven't Heard Yet
    redveil - learn 2 swim
    E L U C I D - I Told Bessie
    IDK - Simple.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I think Denzel, Saba and Lupe are my top 3. Conway and Benny albums are really great but I don't really listen to them in full. not a fan of that Kendrick at all

Saba, Denzel, Conway the Machine, and Benny the Butcher. I still need to catch up with more though.

  7. tobi lou, redveil, Saba, Earl, Ivy Sole, and Che Noir all wound up on my mid-year list. Quelle Chris always has my attention too. Bummed that I’ve been kinda missing signals with some of the really hyped ones like Dave East, Benny, and Conway — apparently been in a mostly melodic mood this year haha. Tana 4 does have that incredible opener though

Finally got to the Lupe and yup, it's fucking amazing. The perfect length, and I have no idea how he still comes up with all of these new insanely original topics or approaches to subjects like he does

It's kind of crazy that an album this fucking good is maybe his fifth best album imo. He is easily one of the best rappers of all time

Still need to listen to Billy Woods, Elucid, and apparently, Lupe.

That's probably where I am at with this. It's great, but no way does it touch F&L, Cool, T&Y or Drogas Wave.

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers

Conway and Benny are my two favorite hip hop albums of the year so far.

Also I really like the Future record (which just like his last album, I'm probably the only one)
