This is a bad take. Interpol sounds nothing like the National.

Me same but it's probably not the record you're talking about.

would say that the National is a little more consistently great but also this is fair I get it

I mean Interpol also has heavy post punk influence and would argue the rhythm section is part of the appeal for a lot of people for both bands. plus they came up in the same era and area so it's not weird to associate them

Interpol and The National are similar in ways but not really comparable to each other. I will say that my 20’s are defined by them, Interpol in my early to mid 20’s, and TN for my late 20’s.

I have done this. I also remember someone saying if I didn’t get emotional to that one rabbits song while reading along or whatever it’s called then I don’t have a soul or whatever. It did nothing for me.

I literally don’t know if that’s possible but I’ll try when I get home

I don't think Ian Curtis was a huge influence on The National. they took a left where Interpol took a right imo

I probably associate Editors with Interpol more than The National

pink rabbits? great lyrics but also saying something in such hyperbole is such a surefire way to get someone to not like something hahaha. try Boxer. the album PR is on, trouble will find me, is their most accessible imo but Boxer starts the whole aesthetic they reside in. or alligator if you want some more youthful exhuberance and charming production. or ignore all of this if you don't care, that's cool too! no band is for everyone

Antics is my second favorite Interpol record behind TOTBL, Carlos D was the height of his playing on that album.
