My wife and her friend had a girl's night and went to see Ocean's 8, so I decided to see this by myself on a whim. I'm all fucked up now. Driving home alone was not fun, kept looking over my shoulder.
This was nuts Not super down with the ending but everything before it was so well done. And it was cool that it was all filmed in Park City and Salt Lake City where I’m from. Didn’t know that going in. But I kept noticing places that looked sort of familiar haha.
That daytime/nighttime cut at the end where people from the cult are standing outside the house when it cuts to night time, mannnnnnnn that was creepy as fuck.
Woken up two nights in a row now extremely convinced a person is going to be floating in a corner of my room. I feel like when I was in high school getting into horror and every single movie made me a sleepless wreck lmao.
I knew it! When the father slams his brakes at the traffic light, I looked at the street sign and thought, "Is that Salt Lake?"What else was familiar to you? I've never lived in Utah, but tons of friends there.
also was surprised this was filmed in utah but super cool. not sure how i feel about it. felt like it didn't need to be two hours long. also felt like the scene where the mom is putting everything together, looking at her mothers belongings was kinda rushed. saw this with the friday night college crowd and it fucking sucked. so many giggly loud ass kids in the theatre kinda ruined the experience. also had a ton of people doing the cluck sound throughout the whole movie.
Normally when I go to bed I turn out the hall light and use my phone to get into bed because my room lighting situation is annoying and requires backtracking. The past two nights I’ve taken the extra steps and kept it lit all the way up until I’m actually in bed......
That got a huge collective gasp in my showing. The quick cut of both Peter and Annie covered in paint thinner was so crazy.
He was so strong through all of it. I just kept hoping he’d take Peter and leave Annie and the house behind but I knew it wasn’t going to end well for any of them.
He plays that type so incredibly well. He’s always kind of underrated even though he has some critical acclaim so it thrills me that so many people will be watching him for the first time. So many understated moments in this that only he could pull off.
pulled my fiancé in to whisper something in her ear when we got into the theater for the second movie we were seeing and did the cluck sound, needless to say she wasn’t happy
The worst thing is I make that noise sometimes when I’m bored and now I will feel worried about doing it...
I did the cluck this morning to my girlfriend right when she woke up and she punched me Probably snagging that A24 Hereditary shirt when I get home, that thing is sick
I was just coming here to post about it. I bought the black in like 30 seconds. Hope it’s true to size because I have never gotten anything from them before.
This was superb, like I was legit creeped out at the end with the ritual in the treehouse, my mouth straight up hit the floor when I saw Charlie’s head on the statue. This was so damn well made, I was enthralled by the cinematography, brilliant camera work. It was also really emotional draining in parts, which really added to the theme. This is a top ten of the decade in horror, like a true triumph.
