I liked it but didn't love it in the theater. I just bought it and hope a second viewing improves my impression

I would agree with you but in my theater (and many others I've heard) people were laughing the whole time and it just about ruined it for me.

I felt the same way. I watched the VVitch a few day before and thought that was WAY better. If you haven't seen that, you might enjoy it.

I think I would have enjoyed it more had I viewed it that way. I was traveling over the weekend and watched 2 movies on my flight out and 2 on my flight back. Definitely not the best way to view movies.

I'm considering rewatching it as well, as I think how I viewed it impacted my feelings towards it, but idk. I just expected a lot more.

I definitely enjoyed The Witch more.

Yeah I like The Witch a lot more but it's all preference. I took a date to see The Witch on a whim, knowing nothing about it which was great for me but not for the uninitiated non-horror non-cinephile lady I had just met. lol

I loved seeing this in the theater because it was a rare experience for me where there was like maybe 20 of us in the theater, and every single person there was there because we all really wanted to see it. There was teenagers, old people, middle-aged people and people my age, all just sitting there quietly and absorbed in the movie.

But I probably had a funner time rewatching this by myself on my TV in my bedroom at 3am in the dark

I saw it in theaters and had heard the hype leading up to it but nothing else. Didn't know the plot, avoided commercials, I didn't even know Toni Collette was in it until a few days before I saw it. That's the way I prefer going to movies nowadays.

Same. Didn’t watch any trailers, and avoided all reviews/threads until I saw it. Was perfect

I watched Apostle last night bc ive seen such wildly different opinions on it. Can’t remember if that was this thread or the Netflix thread

    Anyway it was brutal.

Edit: whoopsie thought this was the horror thread bye
