Really upset that I missed that boxset. But super stoked this is happening.

 

U.S. HGB collectors are going to be bummed. I suspect most of them sold to people in the UK/Europe..not only because it was exclusively on the Euro store but because it went up at around 11 pm PST last night...most of the U.S. was asleep.

 

Exactly why I missed out haha.

Ever since the EP days, the bass in HGB songs have always stood out to me. Very unique and fun.

With them being active again, hopefully we’ll get a repressing of WIKY? Down the line. Been wanting that vinyl for about 7 years now.

 

The production is fantastic, guitar and bass tones are so on point and I love how clearly those strings and horns cut through the mix without sounding too compressed

 

The song is super fun, I love the vibe.... BUT I wish the vocals were a lot higher, they get so extremely lost that I kinda feel like I'm listening to an instrumental jam for the most part

 

That's the only thing I'd change.

 

I like the track a lot, but if anything it’s too similar to the best track off his last album, “Swear You’re In Love”.

 

I think the master and mix is perfect. We've been too conditioned to expect vocals to dominate a song in the past ten years and they don't need to. This keeps the vibe right where it should be.

 

I don't think this is similar but significantly better than that song. That was always my least favourite song on that album though, lol.

 

One of the catchiest things I've heard in quite a while. Actually I find that the more low key vocals in terms of performance and mix enhance the hook by giving it kinda a tastefully subtle vibe while not detracting from its effectiveness.

 

I just love Forest's voice, want more of it

 

Oh, and for the record ... the entire album is like this. It's very much intentional. There's a billion layers to every song and it's really clear they're placed exactly how he wants them.

 

When the instrumentation is this good, hell yeah push the vocals back in the mix a bit. That bass is unreal.

This album is the only thing I want to listen to now I've heard the single. I'm sad it's still so far away.

 

The vibe is nice, I feel very on point with the Natalie Prass funk similarities. Maybe I need to play it more but it’s not as immediately catchy as I would like. Hoping for some great hooks on the album I guess.

 

Same. Very grateful it’s coming and also feel like this is more of a summer album than a fall album. But I mean, I’ll take it.
