It's without a doubt an exaggerated act on social media. Everything the band posts is seeping with irony.

This is not good. My god the songwriting is atrocious lol If you want heavy go listen to ETID or SYSC.

 

The first single from this was super catchy, but these first 2 songs are pretty bad

 

There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of 5th wave bands doing the “ironic” twitter thing right now in a good way. This band is not one of them. Dude just like, posts shirtless pics of himself holding guns and knives regularly and thinks it’s funny?

 

I guess these are my final 2 cents on it all.

Since the release of The Manson Family, HAM has consistently been redefining their writing and online brand as tongue-in-cheek, hyper cheesy, and rooted in utter absurdity. All their fans are in on the joke. In my opinion, they do a better job of interacting with their fanbase over every other band in the scene right now - I give them props for that. I also give them props for never facilitating self-deprecating humor.

If you're looking for a listening experience that is thoughtful, deep, or 100% serious - it isn't this one. If it isn't for you, no problem - this band is stupid goofy. I'm excited to see where they go from here.

 

I’m just gonna bring up For Your Health as a band who generally has a similar schtick and can be obnoxious for sure but at least they’re generally on the right side of issues and don’t come off as tone deaf all of the time. There’s a way to be an extremely online shit poster without being an asshole.

 

This threads just full of fun people.

 

Yeah the lead single from this is really great but the rest isn’t hugely for me.

 

The last track on the EP is more like Pitch Black if you didn't make it that far.

 

Yeah I will admit the lead single is good, but the rest is shockingly bad given how catchy the single is. I don’t care if they are trying to be absurd or cheesy, lots of bands do that and it can be very fun. However the music besides the single is quite awful and the Twitter stuff is grating.

 

Good deal - that means you fall in the 'not for you' category. Not a problem.

 

Was it also ironic, tongue-in-cheek, and goofy when they were defending Better Off for sticking by their touring bassist after he was accused of sexual assault. Cuz I gotta say, not very funny!
