Having a small spread of options to rotate between might work. Like 3 breakfast options. 3 lunch options. 6-8 kinds of snacks. Then you can mix and match and have variety, but still have it more of a constant than a variable for calorie counting
I do the same breakfast all the time, but that's mainly because breakfast is the only meal that is just for sustenance for me so I'll do dry cereal or a granola bar, and I think I do try to get the same snacks I think are healthy or healthier
You can eat the same thing too and not really have the same thing. Like fruit and yogurt with different fruits throughout the week or oatmeal with different fruits and recipes, and salad has like endless varieties too, and different kinds of smoothies. I think that's my way of switching up haha altho lately I've been fine with a repetitive kinda simple salad.
I'm a very habitual person so I eat the same thing every day during the week. Breakfast: Greek yogurt + 1pkg oatmeal Lunch: 1 chicken breast + 1.25cups low fat cottage cheese Dinner: 2-3 talapia filets + 1can mixed veggies My fridge and cupboard always look empty because I never buy anything I know I will snack on. No chips, cookies, ice cream, etc. except for what's above, the only other thing I'll buy is pasta and sauce for when I'm out of food but don't want to run to the store. Maybe some salsa and tortilla for shredded chicken tacos if I'm feeling it. The weekend is when I mix it up. Saturday if I have a date lined up I might eat out or go to chipotle. Sunday I'm at my parents visiting my dogs (and my parents too I guess), and doing laundry and this is when I have a bad habit of snacking.
I've never been a snacker either. I don't eat a lot at once tho and I'm the slowest eater of all time so I guess my meals could be considered extended snacking lol. Like Friday for lunch I had cut up fruit and nuts and spent like 3 hours eating it.
I'm still stuck eating crap based off money and current aspiration that lowkey need to happen. I really hope to get 100% into healthier eating and everything when life is more stable. I even notice my appetite is more relaxed than ever so I feel... i hate to say but.... almost primed for being able to rn lol.
I started dieting/calorie counting this week, and I feel good so far, but I also seem to be not eating enough calories. Trying to balance the calories with carbs etc. is a headache, but I'm trying to figure this all out haha
So far I'm pleased with how I've eaten. I want to eat healthier so even if it's not the most healthful "super foody" thing all the internet nutritionists rave about, if it's a better alternative to what I'd normally eat, I consider it a win. I tend to get kinda unhealthy and obsessive when I've tried to get healthier in the past so I'm hoping by being a little lax and just trying my best it'll help. Tho I think I've already started being obsessive cause I am talking about it irl too much lol. My relationship with food sucks.
It's been three days only, but man, I'm already starting to feel better knowing how much better I'm doing versus before. I never realized how bad I was eating until I actually started counting calories and researching what I'm eating. I miss my craft beers so much though. Limiting myself to one or two a weekend until I get to where I want to be (they're definitely the reason I gained a lot of this weight)
ok work potlucks suck. I mean they're amazing but they suck. I need to research some potluck hit dishes that are healthy too cause I swear it's someone's birthday like everyday.
I love my food scale, it's seriously so easy to track your calories when you can be like yep that's 100 grams! I hated when serving sizes were in grams or ounces because before the food scale it was like how much can I eat?!
Anyone want to post their workout playlist or some of their favorite pump up songs? My playlist is getting a little too familiar so I need to change it up
