I've backslid about 8 pounds in the last month. The stress from work just pushed me over the edge. I need to fix it and now

I took a kickboxing class before which was fun, but I think I'd really enjoy actual boxing because you just get to feel like such a bad ass. How does one go about learning to box?

  7. Don't eat a lot or have any sports drinks or other sugary/unhealthy drinks before, stretch your sides and abdomen, and do some deep breathing before you start your run.

I graduated undergrad back in May and moved into the apartment complex where I live now a week after. I partially picked here because of the free gym on the 1st floor (and its proximity to law school). I'm blind, so I can't really go out and run, and though I did weight lifting and such in early undergrad, I really didn't take good care of myself -- I graduated undergrad sixty five pounds over what the internet says the optimum weight is for someone my size.
Since moving, I've been hitting the gym every day -- I have a bad knee, so I do between 15-30 minutes of the elyptical at a high speed, intensity, and incline. I started lifting some weights last week (not a lot, just some arm and shoulder stuff on a machine). A lot of it is that, in law school, I don't have the hours to spend in the gym. But tbh I wouldn't want to spend those hours, anyway. lol
I was overcorrective initially, counting calories religiously and under eating. I would get anxiety if I ate more than 1000 calories a day.
Anyway, all that to say that since June when I moved I'm down 25 pounds. I still have a good way to go, but I'm feeling much better. Don't really know the reason for this post. Just sharing I guess.

I want to lose 20lb by my birthday (Dec 30). I'm eating fairly decently, but I still don't work out. I'm at the point in my post WLS journey where I really need to be hitting the gym because weight won't keep falling off without effort.

I hate the gym, though. Ugh. When I go, I usually just walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes and call it good. I know I need to do weights to help with the loose skin on my arms and legs, but I hate that too. :(

Halp. Someone take my body and gym for me.

Find an exercise that you enjoy doing like swimming, running, tennis, basketball, bicycling, etc and try to lose weight that way. I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week and run on the treadmill, elliptical, light weightlifting, now I only go three times a week and all I do is play 5 on 5 full-court basketball with a bunch of other guys for about an hour each time. It's an intense workout and it's fun as hell and it's the only thing that keeps me in shape. It beats the hell out of just running on a treadmill or lifting weights too. Honestly the highlight of my day three days a week.

Kinda fell off the band wagon this weekend with the storm coming through, because I was hanging with friends and ahe only thing to do in a sotmr, other than study, is eat and drink. But I tried on an old blazer and it finally fits, so that's a reason to get going again.
What do you guys think about elyptical machines? Useful? Not? How long do you think you need to use it daily to make a difference? Do you have to be sweating? Out of breath? Both?

Haven't eaten yet today, but I just weighed myself for the first time in a month or so and I lost 10-15 pounds! Even though I eat like shit still, walking ~4 miles a day (uphill 2 miles...) really gets the job done...

I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 3 pounds shy of my original goal. I've lost 77 pounds so far. I've already got another number in mind but what I should do is start weightlifting. I really don't feel like doing that though, for now at least

I relapsed/backslid really really badly since school started again. I'm actually really concerned about it.

Does anyone here actually like halo top? Any good flavors?

  19. I would rather run a half-marathon in the middle of July in Missouri's swamp ass humid weather than run one mile on a treadmill. I hate this time of the year because by the time 5pm rolls around, it's too dark for me to run after work and I hate running in the morning.

I've tried splitting it up, I'll do 4 sets of chest, triceps, biceps, and abs each and then run a mile on the treadmill. And then go do another round of sets and treadmill, and repeat until I've done my entire gym workout.

I've avoided it too. It's made me dangerously depressed. It also had me convinced my girlfriend would end up leaving me, until she smacked me around for that shit.

    Addictions are no joke.

I eat so much sugar and don't notice cause it's not all at once but throughout the day. I'm kinda getting freaked cause my weight is at the highest it's ever been and I feel good about myself most of the time, but I feel like I excuse the weight gain in my head. like it's not a huge amount and I think i look okay but I don't want it to insidiously get worse and then one day I'm like omg. I should form healthier habits. I eat better than most ppl my age that I know, but it could def be better and more balanced. and I don't exercise much, tho at least my job isn't sedentary. my back feels better when I work out and I feel better overall, but I have a hard time sticking to it like most ppl do I guess.
