I had to stop for 30 seconds and water in the middle of the last 5 minute stretch today. I really thought I could make it further into this program before I failed. Really defeated
Not even. Week 4, Day 2. I survived day 1 just barely but this one beat me. I knew I might never be able to finish the program, but I at least thought I'd make it through the first two days of week 5
I do Week 4, Day 3 today. I did Day 2 last night and it was a challenge for sure. Are you doing this on the treadmill or road?
Gotcha. I am doing it on the treadmill. I try to do the entire workout at 6.5 speed but drop the speed to 5.5-6 when i find myself struggling. I've glanced into week 5 but not farther so I'm curious to see how much more this kicks my ass in the coming weeks.
Just because I'm getting in better shape doesn't mean I'm getting more athletic, I'm realizing. Maybe it's time to get more realistic before I get defeated and lose momentum
I have read that people will repeat a week if they find the next step will be too much. I'm patiently waiting for that in the next few weeks because realistically that will probably happen the further I get into the program.
Is this also the general exercise thread? Anyway I did 13 minutes of cardio and I'm dying. Out of breath and I taste blood
Saturdays are the worst for having the motivation to go run and to the gym. It's easy during the week because my work is right across the street from the gym and i'll follow that up with a run. Uggggh.
I was on my feet the last two days and walked about a mile and half the day before that. No knee pain???? I don't know what happened but I hope it stays that way. Gonna try and start hiking sometime and see how it goes.
So I just weighed myself and I've lost 22 pounds this year (70 pounds total). This is the lightest I've been since high school! I'm really fucking excited about that
ever since i completed C25k and ran my 5k i've sorta been slacking on running. i was in vegas last week so that doesn't count but i haven't run in almost two weeks now. going to change that tonight after work.
If/when I finish the program, I think I'll just start it over. It'll probably help me keep a consistent cardio routine but I can see taking a short break right after for sure.
I think I might be quitting c25k. I just can't hang with week 5 and it's had me avoiding exercise because it makes me so miserable. I can't afford to lose momentum
you have to do whatever works best for you and whatever helps you achieve YOUR goals. if c25k is pushing you further away from your goals, then by all means you should move on! no shame!
I'm going to give it one last shot and retreat all the way back to week 4 day 1. Then I'll see. If I think it's going to derail me, then you're right I have to let it go. I never wanted to become a runner. It was just a good way to try something new and avoid plateauing
Have you tried HIIT training or another form of cardio? Rowing is an awesome form of cardio if you ever wanted to try that.
