I can't believe I forgot to post this in here on Wednesday. So I'm on the final week of Couch to 5k, which is a 30 minute run. I got to 30 minutes, and I was pretty close to 5k, so I just finished it! I got to 5k in 32:40, which I realize is a slow time, but it was probably one of the proudest moments of my life haha. I was so ecstatic. Then of course today I got to the 30 minute mark and absolutely could not go any further, but I blame that on the fact that I decided to run at 1PM and it was close to 90 degrees with no breeze.
holy fuck, pop tarts are awful for you. sweet christ, a serving size is 1 pop tart (because we all only eat 1 when 2 come in a bag, those shits) and 2 is about 1/4 total daily calories. FOR POP TARTS. you could eat most candy bars for less sugar, carbs and cals than pop tarts. i loved you pop tarts, but i can't no more.
Oh, this thread is new (to me). As a preface, I haven't scrolled through so I don't know how you guys feel about WLS. I had a sleeve gastrectomy on 11/3/15 and weighed 448lb. Highest weight was 465ish (I didn't step on the scale for several months after that one, so idk). Current weight as of this morning is 330, though last Saturday I was 325 (fuck stalls, man). Starting to work out now, mostly through walking or biking, Diet is low carb with a protein shake (30g) at breakfast and simple foods like eggs or protein bars scattered through the day. Sugar and fatty foods basically kill me and I'm not really a big fan of sweet things anymore anyways, so it works out. Fun story: I went to the gym for the first time in like six months this evening since it was too hot to walk outside all day. Stepped off the treadmill, immediately stepped on the running treadmill beside me because I'm dumb, and fell on my butt. It was a good time. Happy to answer any questions on WLS or my experience with it or whatever.
Down two pants sizes and a shirt size. I could get used to this, but damn I'm gonna go broke trying to keep in clothes that fit me
That's awesome and I'm in a similar boat. My pants don't fit anymore, but I don't really want to buy new ones because if all goes according to plan, in two months they won't fit either!
I already didn't have many summer clothes (mostly because I looked repulsive in everything at my old weight) so I had to pick up some stuff. But yeah it just feels like money wasted because, ideally, I might be down another size before the end of the summer.
What are some apps for Android that are simple, user-friendly, and good for tracking calories/weight loss and exercise? Gained around 70lbs over the past year as a result of eating my feelings and taking a sucky antidepressant. Tips for this are mucho appreciated!!
Just finished walking a charity 10k by 10:15 am. I can do nothing the rest of the day and NOT feel like a piece of shit now. Lol
Stress of a break-up and using running as therapy has me down 50 pounds since March. I'm the lightest I've been in 15 years. I wish it wasn't from stress, but I'll take it regardless.
Set all time highs (since getting the Fitbit, which is probably my real life high anyway) in steps, miles and calories burned today. Feels great
About to return from a tour/extended vacation. Will be making some positive changes in my diet and exercise, so I'll hopefully be posting in here more often!
I repeated two weeks. My unsolicited advice is to not focus on getting to 3 miles, just focus on finishing. I didn't get to 3 miles until the last 5 sessions. Right now I am going back over the last two weeks and making sure I get to 3 miles each time.
Oh yeah I'm not even going to pay any attention to distance. Just running at what pace I can for the durations it tells me to
Yeah even at the 30 minute mark I'm not hitting 3 miles. Usually around 2.9 at 30 minutes. I don't really care because I know if I keep running, eventually my time will get better.
I love these types of videos. There is a guy in my gym that does this little dance before he starts working out. Like, he keeps his feet together, hops forward, shakes his butt, claps, hops backwards, shakes his butt, claps...rinse...repeat. I have no idea what he is doing. I need to remember to record it.
There's an old Asian guy at my gym who uses ^ that machine by standing in front of it and pretending to freestyle swim bent over at the waist. The best part? Our gym has a pool.
