Years and years and years ago, I used to eat cereal as a snack and I'd just lose myself in how much I was eating. Like, half a box easily before I knew it. Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, Cocoa Puffs. So bad for you. In the past several years, the only cereal I'd ever eat is Cheerios and Raisin Bran, and now I just rarely, if ever, eat cereal at all. Haven't drank a pop in years. When I was a teen/early 20s, I would drink 5-6 pops a day. Quit cold turkey after college and never really returned to it in the past 15 years. Alcohol is definitely my biggest vice. I drink anywhere from 2-4 beers a night, 4-5 nights a week. And heavy beers too. Craft with high ABV and a lot of calories. Weirdly, it doesn't seem to affect my weight much.
When I worked at a place with free fountain drinks, my soda consumption was thru the roof. Idk how I stayed so thin. Now the calories I wanna drink are London Fog teas and cider. I had to limit my london fog consumption cause at my old job the lil local coffee shack across the street made it so perfect. Now I don't have one in as convenient proximity and it's easier. Luckily the Starbucks one is actual garbage so it's not tempting but if I ever find a new place, it's over for me
At our office there is a vending machine and the bottles of soda are like $1.25 or something and every fucking day there are 2-3 people who get like 5 sodas each and all I can think (besides the terribleness of what drinking that much soda does to you) is “why don’t you just buy a 24-pack and keep it in the fridge????” They’re spending $6-8 a day on 5 bottles, just buy a pack and at least save some money. I never understood that.
They may also tell themselves that this will be the day/week they quit drinking so much soda and then they cave. Spoken from someone who got a vending machine soda today lol, tho cant say i do it daily let alone multiple times a day. The fact that they have credit card readers on them now too can make justifying it easier
agree, but at the same time it’s kind of not since most of these folks have to walk from one end of the office to the other, which is much farther away from the communal fridge where they could keep it and I assume they go grocery shopping so you know, it’s like right there at the store lol hell, some folks have mini fridges in there office, surprised one of these people haven’t done that yet
agreed, someone I used to work with did that with Kit Kat bars. And I sometimes do it with certain drinks where I’ll buy one at the store already cold instead of the four pack that is on the shelf room temperature because I tell myself “I only drink like one of these a month” lol
Also one of my coworkers said “maybe they do that because their spouse doesn’t let them drink soda / they don’t want them to know” which is really sad in a lot of ways. still doesn’t quite make me understand why they wouldn’t buy a pack and keep it at work but I guess there are all sorts of reasons for why people do things.
They get steps every time they go to the vending machine!! It evens out! Sounds like something I'd say to justify myself lol
What I find weird is people who say: "I don't drink coffee" yet in the same sentence they are drinking a sugary soda at 7 in the morning...
You must be from the midwest or Buffalo/Rochester area of upstate NY. They are only people I have ever met that refer to soda as "pop".
My bf likes to get me little surprise treats and stuff and it's screwing me over calorie count wise. But it's such a sweet gesture. Ugh.
Really want to eat a Reese’s Easter Egg, and definitely will don’t you doubt it, but having another snack of veggies first. Progress I suppose.
I had a handful of M&M's earlier. I deserved it I've also been getting back into weights and really enjoying it, just light dumbbells to build and tone some lean muscle. I also finally setup my "power tower" so I can add in some additional upper body and core exercises.
I didn't know safeway has a meal planning feature on their app! You can filter by diet and allergies and then it gives recipes and breaks it down by macros and calories and you can add all the ingredients to your shopping cart for pick up or delivery
I switched to an near vegetarian diet a week ago for health reasons to see if it would help my stomach problems. I've had one turkey sub the last 7 days, but that's it. I've lost 5 pounds so far, which might be a little too much too fast actually. Still having near daily IBS flareups, but not as intense.
Been eating dry Honey Nut Cheerios as a snack the past couple weeks as an alternative to the cookies, snack cakes, ect i would usually get for my sugar kick.
I did a 5lb dumbbell arm workout today and it humbled me. The gym at my apartment is small and limited and the dumbbells there are too heavy for me to lift and I only have 5lb ones at home. so I just searched 5lb dumbbell workouts and picked one at random. I thought it would be too easy but It had a lot of fast repetition with little to no breaks and my arms felt like they were gonna fall off by the end.
Lol I did deli for many years and my very first day, very first thing I saw, guy training me cuts four pounds of roast beef in one go and hit it exactly. Still one of the best things I've ever seen
